OUR PURPOSE

Helping students use English
with confidence.

We want children, teenagers and adults to feel comfortable using English in everyday life—and ambitious about what they can achieve with it.

For teenagers: confidence and independence

Lessons, activities and stays in Ireland give young people opportunities to speak English, make friends from other countries and become more independent. We want English to feel like a natural part of their lives.

Progress beyond the next exam

We help students work towards B2, C1 or an IELTS target, while encouraging them to keep developing their fluency. Becoming bilingual or nearly bilingual is a long-term ambition we support through practice and encouragement.

English for study, work and connections

We prepare students to participate in an international world, with guidance about future opportunities and chances to build connections. Our boutique approach gives us time to know each student and listen to families.

ITALIAN ROOTS. AN IRISH HOME.

A school shaped
by its students.

From our first classrooms in Sorrento to online lessons and summers in Ireland, personal relationships have guided our next steps.

2006

A beginning in Sorrento

Maria Mangan founded the school in Sorrento, Italy, in autumn 2006. Academic-year teaching in Italy was complemented by summer trips to Ireland, giving students opportunities to put their English into practice.

2016

A wider community

George joined when the school moved to Castellammare di Stabia, better serving students between Naples and Sorrento. Listening and pronunciation workshops, outings and shared dinners brought English beyond regular lessons.

2019

Our Irish chapter

C2 English School was established in Ireland, building on years of summer programmes and connections between the two countries. Maynooth became our Irish base and remains our official headquarters.

2020+

Learning, wherever you are

During the pandemic, students discovered the convenience of online lessons and easily shared materials. Many wanted to continue online when in-person lessons became possible again, helping shape our next chapter.

Today

A home near Maynooth

After acquiring land in Moynalvey, we began developing our residential facilities. The Coach House has welcomed students for three summers, while a larger residence is under construction.

TEEN STAYS IN IRELAND

English throughout the day

Teenagers stay with us in small groups, with a maximum of eight students in the Coach House. Lessons are part of an English-speaking day that includes shared meals, activities and excursions, with teachers and tutors on campus.

Students help shape their programme by choosing from a catalogue of more than 80 experiences. Adventures, cultural visits and immersion days with Irish teenagers give them reasons to speak, build friendships and grow in confidence.

ENQUIRIES FROM 95 COUNTRIES

A wider international community

We have received requests for English teaching from people in 95 different countries. Online learning has helped people discover our school far beyond our original classrooms in Italy and our home in Ireland.

That international interest strengthens our ambition to connect learners across borders while keeping our teaching personal.

OUR PRIVATE LEARNING PLATFORM

Practice between lessons

We are investing in our private online platform and developing our own English learning applications. Students can keep practising between lessons, revisiting activities as often as they want and building a routine that fits their lives.

Our aim is unlimited opportunities to practise English alongside personal teaching: technology that gives students more time with the language and supports the work they do with their teachers.

01 / A PERSONAL WELCOME

Known by name.

With a maximum of eight students in the Coach House, we get to know each child’s interests, goals and support needs.

02 / PEOPLE WHO CARE

Support around them.

Teachers, tutors and our Student Welfare Officer help young people feel settled, ask questions and join in.

03 / A CONNECTION WITH HOME

Families are part of it.

We make time for your questions, explain arrangements before the stay and listen to what your child needs.

Our aim: stronger English, greater independence and the motivation to keep learning.

PERSONAL BY CHOICE

What matters to us.

01

Ambition with encouragement

We help students look beyond the next exam and imagine what greater confidence in English could make possible.

02

Time for the individual

Knowing our students means understanding their goals, listening to their questions and making room for extra support.

03

English as part of life

Lessons provide structure. Conversations, shared activities and international experiences give students opportunities to use what they learn.

04

Relationships with families

We want families to know the people supporting their children and feel comfortable reaching out. Clear communication and personal reassurance matter.

05

Growth that preserves our character

We want to develop what we offer while remaining a boutique school—with the same care and close relationships.
