Let’s discuss this combination

What does this mean for your child?

Regular online English lessons give your child continuity during the school year, alongside schoolwork and other commitments. We discuss their starting point and goals with your family, with guidance and resources to help English become part of life at home.

We begin by getting to know your child’s English, interests and goals, then discuss a manageable rhythm for lessons. Family meetings and suggested activities help connect learning with home life. You can keep this pathway focused on the course or explore extra elements with us as your child’s needs change.

How can we help your child move from studying English to making it a natural part of their life? At C2, our new approach towards bilingualism connects three things: regular learning, focused practice and real-life experience. I'm Mary Mangan, Director of Studies.

Let me show you how they work together. First, we build the foundation. Regular online lessons help your child develop their English throughout the school year.

Children in group classes can also book individual lessons whenever they need extra support. Then, we give particular skills a boost. As your child progresses, we identify what could help them next.

Perhaps it's clearer pronunciation, stronger listening, or more confidence in conversation. Our C2 Masters are short courses that focus on those skills, building on their regular lessons. And then, we bring that learning into everyday life.

With an optional stay in Ireland, your child can use what they've been learning through conversations, friendships, and shared experiences, and bring that confidence back to their lessons. These are connected opportunities, not a fixed sequence. Your family can choose the combination and timing that suit your child.

We help you connect it all with family meetings, guidance, and enjoyable ways to practise English at home. Whether you're a parent exploring the possibilities for your child, or a young person ready to take your English further, I'd love to hear from you. Use the link below to book a free conversation with me, or visit the contact section at the bottom of this page.

Tell me about your goals, and let's build your path towards bilingualism together.

BEFORE WE PLAN

A few questions.
Clear answers.

Does my child need to be bilingual already?

No. This personalised English programme helps children and teenagers work towards bilingualism from their own starting point. We discuss your child’s English, interests and goals first. There is no fixed deadline for becoming bilingual: progress depends on their starting level, regular practice and opportunities to use English.

How is this different from a regular online English course?

Regular online English lessons for children and teenagers are the foundation. Children taking group lessons can also book occasional individual English lessons for extra support. This pathway connects them with family guidance and optional short skills courses or an Ireland stay. It gives your family a longer-term plan, with room to focus on school goals, speaking confidence or a new challenge.

Can we add a C2 Master or an Ireland stay later?

Yes. Start with the school-year course, then discuss extra elements as your child’s interests and needs develop. You can add C2 Masters short English courses, an English immersion stay in Ireland, or both. Ireland is optional; the pathway can remain entirely online.

What if my child understands English but struggles to speak?

Tell us where they feel stuck. A Conversation Master can focus on expressing ideas and responding in English, while Listening or Pronunciation may be a better fit for another difficulty. Writing courses offer a separate focus on written expression. We discuss the skill your child needs to strengthen before suggesting a course.

Can a C2 Master help with English exam preparation?

Yes. A short course can focus on a skill your child needs for an exam, such as listening, speaking or writing. Share the exam name and any teacher feedback so we can discuss suitable support. For preparation across the whole exam, explore our English exam preparation courses.

How long are C2 Masters, and when can my child take one?

C2 Masters are short English courses of 10–40 hours, with up to 40 hours for very advanced levels. They are available throughout the year. Christmas, Easter, bank holidays and summer can be convenient times to focus, but your family can discuss another moment that suits your child.

How do we choose between the five levels?

Each C2 Master has five course levels. We start by discussing your child’s current skills, the areas they want to improve and their goal, then propose a suitable starting point. These are levels within the C2 Masters courses; they are not a claim that your child already has CEFR C2 English.

How can we support our child’s English at home?

Family meetings help us discuss progress and next steps. We suggest games, English-language content and shared activities that connect with your child’s learning. Explore English practice as a family and our free English practice tools for ways to keep English part of everyday life.
