Identity and contact
C2 English School is an English-language education provider based in Ireland. We handle information about visitors, prospective and enrolled students, parents, staff and partners. For privacy enquiries or rights requests, email info@c2englishschool.com. Where C2 determines the purposes and means of processing, it acts as data controller.
Information collected
Depending on the service, we may process names, contact details, age ranges, country, enquiries, course preferences, booking information, assessment answers and writing, teacher feedback, correspondence, account records and security logs. Residential programmes may require additional information necessary for travel, accommodation and student welfare.
Sources of information
We generally collect information from you, including through website forms, assessments and My C2. Parents or guardians may provide information for minors. Authorised schools, employers or educational agents may share details needed to arrange a requested service.
Purposes and lawful bases
We process information to respond to enquiries and take pre-contractual steps, deliver agreed educational services, meet legal obligations and protect our systems. Legitimate interests may support proportionate security and administration. We request consent where required for optional marketing and tracking. Consent to an English assessment is not consent to promotional messages.
Learning assessments and AI
Our English Level Test and learning tools may use answers, writing and contact details to provide feedback. Automated scores and AI-assisted analysis can support teachers; personalised feedback requiring academic approval is reviewed by teaching staff. Indicative results are not official Cambridge English or IELTS qualifications.
Children and families
We work with teenagers and involve parents or guardians where appropriate. Information about welfare, health or accessibility is requested only where needed for a legitimate purpose. Special-category data requires an appropriate additional GDPR condition and stronger safeguards. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive details through general enquiry forms.
My C2 and account security
My C2 uses role-based access, protected password-verification information, verified recovery addresses and session records. These help prevent unauthorised access and provide secure account recovery. Users should protect credentials and report suspected misuse.
Providers and sharing
We use services for website hosting, cloud infrastructure, databases and email, including Netlify, Google Cloud and Neon. Information is shared with authorised staff, relevant processors and other recipients only where needed and lawful. We do not sell student personal data. Processor arrangements and providers may change as systems develop.
International transfers
Some providers may process information outside Ireland or the EEA. Where GDPR transfer rules apply, we assess relevant protections, including adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
Retention
Information is kept only as long as needed for its purpose, statutory requirements, safeguarding, security or potential legal claims. Enquiries, course records, financial information, assessment records and access logs may have different retention needs. Information is deleted or anonymised when no longer required.
Security and incidents
We use proportionate safeguards such as access controls, authentication and secure connections. No internet service can promise absolute security. We assess suspected breaches and notify regulators or individuals where the law requires.
Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact info@c2englishschool.com. You can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or another competent authority.
Marketing and cookies
We separate necessary service communications from optional marketing. You may withdraw marketing consent or opt out where applicable. Read our Cookie Policy to manage browser preferences.
Policy updates
We review this notice as services change. Other course-specific privacy information may apply. Explore Study Holidays in Ireland, Online Courses and Exam Preparation.
