C2 ENGLISH SCHOOL · IRELAND · METHOD PAPER 01

How English becomes
something you use.

Lessons give language structure. Ireland gives it a reason to exist. Our method deliberately moves English from learning, to real communication, to feedback — and back into use again.

At C2, learning does not stop when the morning lesson ends. Teachers, coaches and mentors see students in different situations throughout the day, so support can respond to the person rather than only to their performance in class.

01

Lead Teacher

Structured lessons focused on communication, fluency and confidence, with learning goals informed by the CEFR.

02

Fluency Coach

Reinforces speaking, pronunciation and listening through short challenges and everyday interaction.

03

Sport & Cultural Mentor

Turns activities and excursions into natural opportunities to communicate, negotiate and connect.

04

Wellbeing Tutor

Helps students feel included and confident enough to participate — because communication needs psychological safety too.

Students use English through meals, activities, excursions and everyday life. They ask, explain, joke, misunderstand, repair, listen and try again. That movement between structured learning and spontaneous use is central to the C2 method.

Time with Irish teenagers adds a particularly important layer: communication is no longer primarily between learner and teacher. Students need English to connect with someone their own age.

01

Vocabulary

Useful lexical sets are noticed, recalled and reused in meaningful contexts so receptive knowledge becomes productive language.

02

Pronunciation

Individual feedback on sounds, stress and rhythm helps students become clearer without asking them to erase their own voice.

03

Fluency

Repeated opportunities to express similar ideas reduce hesitation and help useful sentence patterns become easier to retrieve.

04

Grammar in use

Accuracy is revisited through production, correction and reuse rather than treated as an isolated worksheet skill.

05

Listening

Students meet natural speech, different voices and the pace of real conversation, developing strategies for understanding without needing every word.

06

Sounds & rhythm

Connected speech, intonation and English rhythm are made noticeable so students can both understand spoken English and communicate more clearly.

Because groups are so small, tutors can observe progress continuously. Feedback from lessons and real-life communication helps us decide what to reinforce, what to correct and where a student is ready for a greater challenge.
