Role Overview

As an Activities Leader, you’ll bring energy, organisation, and a positive spirit to our summer programme in Ireland. Your main responsibilities include running engaging afternoon sessions on-site — such as sports, arts, games, and team activities — and supervising students during free-time periods.

You will also lead full-day excursions to cultural, historical, and natural attractions around Dublin, Kildare, and nearby regions, ensuring students stay safe, engaged, and excited about exploring Ireland.

Working closely with the Activities Coordinator and Residential Manager, you will help create a supportive, well-structured environment where every student enjoys a fun, memorable, and safe summer experience.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Lead afternoon activities including sports, arts and crafts, games, team challenges, and creative workshops designed for kids and teens in a summer school environment.

  • Supervise full-day excursions to Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, and surrounding areas, ensuring student safety, punctuality, and active participation.

  • Create a positive and engaging atmosphere where students feel welcomed, supported, and motivated to practise English during activities.

  • Support the Residential Manager and Activities Coordinator with scheduling, attendance checks, and day-to-day programme needs.

  • Communicate clearly with students and staff to help maintain a safe, organised, and enjoyable residential summer programme.

  • Assist with evening supervision duties when required, promoting positive behaviour and responsible group conduct.

  • Represent C2 English School professionally during all excursions and public activities, acting as a role model for international students.

  • Help prepare, set up, and pack away activity equipment and materials, keeping spaces tidy and safe.

  • Report any issues related to student wellbeing, behaviour, or safety promptly to senior staff.

Requirements
  • Energetic, friendly, and confident leading groups of young learners during activities and excursions.

  • Experience working with children or teens (e.g. youth leader, camp counsellor, coach, teacher, activity monitor).

  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of spoken English.

  • Comfortable working outdoors, travelling, and managing fast-paced days with walking and group supervision.

  • Reliable, organised, and able to follow daily schedules, safety procedures, and activity plans.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, maturity, and professional conduct when working with minors.

  • Positive team spirit and willingness to collaborate with colleagues in a residential summer school setting.

  • Ability to remain calm, proactive, and solution-focused in unexpected situations during excursions.

  • Legally able to travel to and work in Ireland, if applicable (EU citizens or candidates with valid permission).

  • First-aid certification or youth-work qualifications are an advantage (not required).
